Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and auditing controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintain precise electronic health records and pharmacy documentation
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and ensure optimal patient care
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician license (required)
- 1+ years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential highly desirable
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate clearly with diverse patients
