Responsibilities
- Accurately process and dispense prescription medications while maintaining strict compliance with pharmacy regulations
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and auditing controlled substances
- Provide exceptional patient consultation on medication usage, side effects, and insurance coverage
- Utilize pharmacy software for prescription processing, billing, and record maintenance
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure optimal patient outcomes and medication safety
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV and other specialized medications
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve prescription issues
Qualifications
- Active New York State Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certification required)
- Minimum 1 year of retail/hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and pharmacy regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions and team collaboration
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and occasional holidays
