Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, package, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and administration
- Maintain precise prescription records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software efficiently
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve prescription discrepancies
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians on department protocols
Qualifications
- Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1-2 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
