Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and assist with third-party billing documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding medication inquiries and usage instructions
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure optimal medication therapy outcomes
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for inventory and prescription management
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records
- Strong attention to detail with ability to perform precise calculations
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments with competing priorities
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Must pass background check and drug screening
