Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient populations
- Ensure specimen integrity through proper handling, labeling, and documentation
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Provide patient education on pre-test procedures and post-draw care
- Collaborate with clinical team to optimize workflow efficiency
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and infection control protocols
- Preferable experience with pediatric and geriatric populations
