Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and surgical instruments prior to procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and sterile fields throughout surgical procedures
- Count and account for all surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgery
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms with proper safety protocols
- Operate and sterilize surgical equipment including endoscopic cameras and power tools
- Document perioperative activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in general surgery and specialty rotations
- Current BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in sterile processing and OSHA compliance standards
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds safely
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment maintenance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to function under pressure
- Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent accredited program
