Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail and chain-of-custody protocols
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and result documentation
- Provide exceptional patient care with emphasis on comfort and clear communication
- Perform basic waived testing and point-of-care procedures as needed
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces and calibrate equipment regularly
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure timely specimen processing
Qualifications
- Current Colorado Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced setting
- BLS/CPR certification required (AHA preferred)
- Proficiency in electronic health records and specimen management systems
- Excellent venipuncture skills with pediatric and geriatric populations
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to reduce patient anxiety
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Must pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
