Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections across diverse patient populations
- Process and label specimens according to strict laboratory protocols
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to OSHA/CLIA compliance standards
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during high-volume collection periods
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with nursing staff and lab technicians for seamless workflow
- Train new staff on phlebotomy techniques and best practices
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in fast-paced setting
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary draws, and pediatric techniques
- Exceptional communication skills for diverse patient interactions
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling accuracy
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
- Pass background check and pre-employment health screening
