Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols (OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA).
- Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and transport of specimens to the laboratory.
- Provide exceptional customer service and comfort to patients during procedures, answering questions and alleviating anxiety.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and laboratory personnel to facilitate smooth patient flow.
- Perform basic point-of-care testing (POCT) and data entry as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current state licensure in Massachusetts.
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred but qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, venipuncture techniques, and specimen handling.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure in high-volume settings.
- Ability to lift and move patients safely and stand for extended periods.
