Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Ensure proper specimen labeling, handling, and transportation following strict protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Provide exceptional patient care and education during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless workflow and patient satisfaction
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or lab setting
- Valid CPR certification
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR)
- Exceptional venipuncture skills with proven low-miss rate
