Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Monitor and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain a sterile environment and ensure zero loss.
- Document and label surgical specimens accurately for pathology.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
- Respond quickly to surgeon requests and anticipate their needs during complex surgeries.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) credential required.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights during procedures.
