Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain sterile environments for all surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Monitor patient vital signs and document surgical procedures accurately
- Manage surgical inventory and ensure proper disposal of biohazardous materials
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, AORN, and hospital safety protocols
- Train on new surgical technologies and techniques as procedures evolve
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends
