Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize medical urgency using established triage protocols
- Provide expert telephone consultations to patients with acute and chronic conditions
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Educate patients on appropriate care pathways and home management strategies
- Monitor patient flow and optimize department efficiency
- Respond to medical emergencies with rapid intervention
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (CA BRN)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or triage experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and de-escalation abilities
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
