Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments to determine medical urgency and prioritize care delivery
- Utilize evidence-based triage protocols to accurately categorize patients using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI)
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding care plans
- Document clinical encounters and patient information in electronic health records with precision
- Coordinate with emergency physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff for seamless patient flow
- Monitor vital signs and recognize subtle changes in patient conditions requiring intervention
- Educate patients on home care instructions and follow-up procedures
Qualifications
- Current Texas RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Expertise in clinical assessment and critical decision-making
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to remain calm under pressure
- Knowledge of local healthcare resources and community support systems
