Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone, telehealth, and in-person to determine urgency and prioritize care
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate timely interventions
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems following HIPAA protocols
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients and families during high-stress situations
- Monitor bed availability and department flow to optimize resource utilization
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage protocols
- Maintain current knowledge of emergency medicine best practices and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California with minimum 2 years ER/urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic EHR or comparable electronic medical records systems
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making under pressure
- Strong communication skills with diverse populations
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN candidates with relevant experience considered
