Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone and triage calls using standardized protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate care levels and disposition
- Document clinical encounters accurately in EMR systems
- Educate patients on home care instructions and follow-up protocols
- Manage high-pressure situations with calm professionalism
- Coordinate with emergency departments for critical transfers
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years ER or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong triage assessment skills (e.g., ESI, Manchester)
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Epic EMR systems preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights/weekends
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
