Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with the utmost dignity.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely transfer and reposition patients using proper techniques to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and patient care logs in the electronic health record system.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the nursing staff to report changes in patient condition promptly.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hygiene protocols and safety standards to prevent the spread of infection.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current California CNA license and registration with the state board.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Current BLS Certification: Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Availability: Must be available to work every weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and rotating holidays.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients up to 250 lbs.
