Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, accurately and timely.
- Assist in moving patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the nursing staff regarding patient status and needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the Registered Nurse.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies within the scope of your certification.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license currently active in the state of Nebraska.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association preferred).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or acute care facility preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; physical stamina required.
- Reliable and punctual with a commitment to weekend availability.
