Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the RN immediately.
- Mobility Support: Help patients move safely from bed to wheelchair or walker, ensuring proper body mechanics and patient comfort.
- Hygiene & Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment; assist with meal service and feeding if necessary.
- Communication: Accurately document patient care in electronic health records and communicate changes in patient status to the nursing staff.
- Emotional Support: Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Texas State Board of Nursing CNA certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) consistently.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods.
