Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, including patient preparation, vital sign monitoring, and specimen collection
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests per established protocols
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Administer injections, medications, and immunizations under provider supervision
- Coordinate patient flow, exam room preparation, and sterilization protocols
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
- Assist with urgent care triage during high-volume weekend shifts
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar)
- BLS/CPR certification and phlebotomy skills
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced weekend environments
- Excellent communication skills and cultural competence
- Flexibility to cover rotating weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 7am-7pm)
