Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and updating patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Assist providers during patient visits, including preparing instruments, performing phlebotomy, and conducting basic EKGs.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and urine analysis according to established protocols.
- Manage front desk duties during peak weekend hours, including patient check-in, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment while adhering to strict infection control and HIPAA regulations.
- Handle patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism, ensuring a positive patient experience.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a physician office or urgent care setting.
- Proficient in computer systems and EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be available to work alternating weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holiday shifts.
