Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic treatments
- Manage patient intake, digital charting, and appointment scheduling using Dentrix software
- Sterilize equipment and maintain infection control protocols exceeding OSHA standards
- Capture diagnostic radiographs and develop high-quality dental images
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure optimal inventory management
- Delve patient education on post-procedure care and oral hygiene
- Coordinate with insurance providers for seamless claim processing
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital radiography and intraoral cameras
- CPR certification and BLS certification
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education
- Experience with HIPAA-compliant documentation systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
- Valid Illinois dental radiography license
