Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Verify insurance coverage and resolve claim denials efficiently
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Reconcile accounts receivable and manage payment posting
- Communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers
- Utilize EHR systems for documentation and reporting
- Identify billing discrepancies and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Associate degree in Health Information Management or equivalent
- Experience with electronic claims submission and remittance
