Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage details
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims with insurance carriers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Use electronic health records (EHR) systems for billing documentation
- Resolve billing discrepancies and patient inquiries
- Generate monthly billing reports for management review
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Familiarity with medical billing software (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
