Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for claim processing and account management
- Analyze aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Expertise in claim scrubbing and denial management
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
