Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy
- Process insurance claims and manage patient medication records using pharmacy software
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain inventory control and ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Prepare IV admixtures and sterile products under pharmacist supervision
- Assist with prescription processing and medication packaging
Qualifications
- Active New York State Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- 1+ years of pharmacy experience in a retail or hospital setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
