Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens accurately with strict adherence to HIPAA protocols
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Verify patient identification and prepare samples for testing/transport
- Provide patient education on procedures while ensuring comfort and safety
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control standards
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent credential
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture procedures
- Current CPR/BLS certification from accredited provider
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Strong understanding of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Valid NE driver's license for specimen transport if required
