Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and care
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen protocols
- Verify patient identities and ensure proper documentation
- Operate centrifuges and other lab equipment safely
- Provide exceptional patient communication during procedures
- Manage inventory of collection supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Valid Ohio Phlebotomy license
- Strong venipuncture skills for diverse patient populations
- OSHA/Bloodborne Pathogen certification required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
