Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and patient comfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory facilities following HIPAA protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure sterility of equipment and adherence to infection control standards
- Provide exceptional patient education during specimen collection procedures
- Collaborate with nursing and laboratory teams for seamless workflow
- Perform quality control checks and equipment calibration
- Assist in inventory management of phlebotomy supplies
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced environment
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling accuracy
- Excellent communication skills and bedside manner
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Pass background check and drug screening
