Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and maintain accurate records
- Manage surgical inventory and restock supplies between cases
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and AORN safety protocols
- Train on facility-specific systems and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work in fast-paced operating room environments
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong attention to detail and physical stamina
- Flexibility to work various surgical specialties (Ortho, General, etc.)
