Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments and equipment per protocol
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Manage sterilization processes and inventory of surgical supplies
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain patient safety through strict adherence to infection control standards
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless surgical workflow
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 1 year recent OR experience in general surgery specialties
- BLS certification with current AHA or ARC provider status
- Knowledge of sterile processing and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Flexibility to support various surgical schedules including weekends
- Texas state license (or eligible) preferred
