We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver / CNA to join our growing team in Richmond, VA. At Comfort Keepers, we believe in providing exceptional in-home care that allows seniors to live independently and comfortably. This role is remote-friendly, offering flexible scheduling and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of your neighbors.
As a key member of our care team, you will provide personal care assistance, medication reminders, and emotional support to clients in the comfort of their own homes. We are looking for individuals who are patient, reliable, and passionate about the well-being of others.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their medications on time and report any concerns to the nursing supervisor.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and light exercise to promote mental well-being.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious and appetizing meals according to dietary restrictions.
- Household Support: Light housekeeping duties such as laundry, vacuuming, and changing linens to maintain a safe living environment.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments or social outings as needed.
- Documentation: Accurately complete daily logs and care plans to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- CNA or HHA Certification: Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) in Virginia is preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- CPR/First Aid: Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health care or geriatric care is a plus but not mandatory.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and active listening.
- Reliability: A strong work ethic and the ability to punctually report to scheduled shifts.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
