Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Verify patient identity and ensure the accuracy of test requisitions before drawing.
- Label, process, and transport blood samples to the laboratory efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized phlebotomy area in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Manage inventory levels of supplies and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Adhere to all HIPAA privacy regulations and patient confidentiality policies.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomist (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid Nebraska State Phlebotomy license.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
