Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in health or behavior to the nursing supervisor.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Household Assistance: Light housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, and running errands to ensure a safe living environment.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments or social outings as needed.
- Documentation: Accurately document care plans, incidents, and progress in the assigned client files.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a Personal Care Aide (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or CNA is preferred but not always required.
- Certification: Current Louisiana CNA or HHA certification is highly desirable.
- License: Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and a passion for helping others.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
