Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications at scheduled times.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in meaningful conversations, hobbies, and recreational activities.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals based on dietary restrictions and client preferences.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dusting, and cleaning to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Monitoring Health: Observe client behavior and report any changes in physical or mental health status to the supervising nurse or family.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, or social outings as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CNA or HHA certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care is a plus but not required.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping others and a patient, empathetic demeanor.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliability: Ability to maintain a consistent work schedule and punctuality.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods as required by the job.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
