Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time and report any side effects or missed doses to supervisors.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious, appetizing meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental well-being and combat isolation.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, including light laundry and tidying.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients move around safely, including transferring from bed to wheelchair or assisting with walking.
- Critical Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in a client's physical or mental condition to the family or case manager immediately.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a CNA, HHA, or Personal Care Assistant is preferred but not required for motivated applicants.
- Certification: Current Louisiana CNA or HHA certification is highly desirable.
- Compassion: A genuine, caring, and patient demeanor is essential.
- Reliability: Dependable with a strong work ethic and punctuality.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
