Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, with the utmost respect and dignity.
- Medication Management: Provide reminders for medication intake and monitor clients for any adverse reactions or changes in health status.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, read to them, play games, and provide emotional support to combat loneliness.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals tailored to the client's dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light cleaning, laundry, and changing bed linens.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery stores, or social outings as required.
- Documentation: Accurately record daily activities, vital signs, and any incidents in the client's care log.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED: Required for all positions.
- CNA or HHA Certification: Preferred, but we are happy to train motivated candidates who do not hold a certification.
- Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Patience and Empathy: A genuine passion for helping the elderly and a patient demeanor are essential.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and nurses.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods as part of the job duties.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
