Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures including minor surgeries and diagnostic tests
- Perform clinical tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy, medication administration, and wound care
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance and data integrity
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
- Maintain examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and manage inventory of medical supplies
Qualifications
- Active certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a medical practice or clinic setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or experience preferred)
- Valid CPR certification
- Pennsylvania state medical assistant license or eligibility
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to interact sensitively with diverse patients
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
