Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and perform basic lab tests
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Administer medications and injections as per physician protocols
- Schedule appointments and handle patient communications professionally
- Maintain clean, sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Active California Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or RMA certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build patient rapport
- Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Spanish language proficiency highly desirable
