Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including walking and transferring to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Communicate patient needs and changes in condition to registered nurses and physicians promptly.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the State of Louisiana.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and families.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
