Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on clinical needs and physician orders.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in strict accordance with safety protocols and legal standards.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and health status continuously, reporting any significant changes to the charge nurse or provider immediately.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance standards, including HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
