Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on clinical needs and physician orders.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in strict accordance with safety protocols and legal standards.
- Monitor patient vital signs and health status continuously, reporting any significant changes to the charge nurse or provider immediately.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance standards, including HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
