Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, transferring them safely between beds and wheelchairs using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient preferences, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including changing linens and restocking supplies.
- Document patient care activities, including shifts, observations, and care plans, ensuring accurate and timely entry into electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic care delivery.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Georgia CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license and state certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred; must be willing to obtain if not currently held.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is highly preferred but not always mandatory for top candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
