Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist nurses and physicians with medical procedures, treatments, and examinations, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, including sanitizing equipment and managing linens.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas, ensuring proper handling and comfort during transit.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR).
Qualifications
- Current and active Colorado State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory for exceptional candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
