Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring to and from beds, wheelchairs, and walkers.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient preferences.
- Assist with light housekeeping and laundry related to patient care to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Document patient care activities, symptoms, progress, and concerns in accordance with facility protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- Current and valid California CNA License required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a home health or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the shift.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
