Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking to ensure maximum safety and comfort.
- Document patient care activities, intake and output, and changes in patient conditions accurately in electronic health records.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff, adhering to all infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Answer call lights and respond promptly to patient needs and inquiries.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Nebraska State CNA License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and assist patients of varying weights and abilities.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others and improve patient outcomes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and varying shift lengths.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.
