Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring dignity and comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Provide basic hygiene care and assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and address concerns.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment in patient rooms and common areas in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Support patients during meal times, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration while adhering to dietary restrictions.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the state of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient lifting and mobility.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
