Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
- Provide basic wound care and change dressings under the supervision of registered nurses.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas, operating wheelchairs, stretchers, and other medical equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Texas.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when assisting patients.
