Responsibilities
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the RN immediately.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician, ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, serving as a compassionate advocate.
- Document patient care plans and update progress notes accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with a focus on quality care.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
