Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Safety & Mobility: Support patient transfers using proper techniques to prevent injury to both the patient and staff. Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Hygiene & Nutrition: Ensure patients are groomed and well-fed, assisting with meals and feeding as necessary.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient updates, concerns, and changes in condition to the nursing staff and family members.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and charts in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and follow protocol for safety and care.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients for extended periods; physical ability to perform hands-on care.
