Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support and patient advocacy to ensure a comfortable healing environment.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or symptoms immediately to Registered Nurses and physicians.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Transport patients to and from examinations, procedures, or other hospital departments safely.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Current and valid NY State CNA Certification (CNA 1 or CNA 2) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
